It's a feature sure to be the envy of your guests. However, the InstaView feature doesn't stop with the refrigerator. You can also use the app to remotely control important functions, including temperature, ice production and diagnostic services. You can even change the colour of the LED lights to suit your mood or kitchen style.
However, it's still an appliance that is priced with a price tag. And we're not convinced it's worth the extra cost to justify the price over a similarly capable and efficient fridge that doesn't have the InstaView feature.
This is especially the case when you compare this model to the four-door LFXC24796D, which retails for $4,200 and has nearly the same capacity of internal storage. The same model with InstaView would cost $3800.
In our tests in our tests, the InstaView refrigerator's door compartment was slightly warmer than the other compartments, which suggests it is not reducing the loss of cold air but instead providing easy access to the shelves inside the door.
What we did like was the clear organiser designed specifically for egg storage (although it could be used for other items, such as yoghurts). It's also nice to see that both freezer and fridge have a 24cm LED strip that is lit when you knock twice on the InstaView door's pane that gives you excellent visibility to help with quick item retrieval without opening the doors.
This model is the first of its kind to feature LG's exclusive Craft Ice System that produces beautiful spheres that are perfect to chill whisky and cocktails. These Ice cubes are smaller than traditional ice and melt slower and chill drinks more efficiently without watering them.
